EXETER, N.H. (PRWEB) December 03, 2014
In Throw a Nickel on the Grass: …and youll be saved (published by Trafford Publishing), the exciting new novel by Norman Phillips, an independent, adventurous young man becomes a decorated fighter pilot in World War II before he reluctantly volunteers for the Vietnam War and changes his life forever.
Rick North has never spent much time on reflection. For 25 years, he has immersed his body and soul in the U.S. Air Force as a forward-looking, self-assured officer. Now, as he lies in a hospital bed in Southeast Asia, the victim of a futile war, he begins to contemplate his past as he is carried further and further away from the only life he has known.
An excerpt from Throw a Nickel on the Grass:
Rick looked up expecting the parachute to be torn because of the high speed of his ejection. Luckily, it stayed intact. A second or two later, he heard a rumbling explosion when the Thud smashed into the ground. Echoes of the sound rippled across the quiet green hills and then faded. It became very quiet.
Based on Phillips own wartime experiences and full of the realism and detail that readers demand, Throw a Nickel on the Grass is sure to excite fans of military or historical fiction.
